DAY OF THE EXAM

• DO NOT drive to your appointment
• Your stomach must be completely empty:
  • No breakfast
  • No water
  • No smoking
• After midnight (12 AM):
  • DO NOT eat or drink anything
  • DO NOT smoke

Important Notes

• A responsible adult must accompany you home
• Bring all medications, insurance card, and ID
• DO NOT take aspirin or blood thinners 3 days prior to exam
• If you can't attend, notify 48 hours in advance or there will be a $100 fee
• High blood pressure medication must be taken 2 hours before the procedure with a sip of water

You may need to stop certain medications before your procedure. Please follow these general guidelines:

Antiplatelet Medications (Stop as directed):

• Aspirin (Aggrenox) – Stop 3 days before
• Clopidogrel (Plavix) – Stop 5 days before
• Ticlopidine (Ticlid) – Stop 3 days before
• Dipyridamole (Aggrenox) – Stop 3 days before
• Cilostazol (Pletal) – Stop 5 days before

Anticoagulants (Blood Thinners):

• Warfarin (Coumadin) – Stop 3 days before
• Heparin – Stop 6 hours before
• Pradaxa (Dabigatran) – Stop 3 days before
• Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) – Stop 3 days before
• Brilinta (Ticagrelor) – Stop 5 days before
• Eliquis (Apixaban) – Stop 3 days before
• Lovenox – Stop 5 days before

Diabetes and Weight-Loss Medications:

• Ozempic / Wegovy / Mounjaro / Trulicity / Rybelsus / Victoza – Hold for 1 week
• Phentermine – Hold for 2 weeks
